Baiano lies between Naples and Irpinia. From here, in half an hour or a little more, you can reach almost anywhere.

Baiano and the Maio

Every year on St Stephen’s Day, Baiano raises the Maio: a towering chestnut tree carried into town by hand and with ropes, and planted in the square in front of the church.

It is the village feast. The photos are by Felice, who photographs it every year.
